Five lakh cars will disappear from the roads of Delhi! Ban is going to be imposed; heavy fine if caught

If you are driving BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel cars in Delhi, then leave them from today and make a habit of traveling in public vehicles, because the Transport Department is soon going to ban these cars.

That means, as soon as the Group 3 rules are implemented, there will be a ban on driving BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel four-wheelers. If such a vehicle is found running, a fine of Rs 20,000 will be imposed on its owner. There are 2,07,038 BS-3 petrol vehicles and 3,09,225 BS-4 diesel vehicles in Delhi.

There are a total of five lakh cars registered in Delhi by which people travel in Delhi and NCR region. These cars will not be able to run from today. This is also why these cars have been banned. Because the share of vehicles in the total pollution in Delhi is close to 40 percent.

In view of the continuously increasing pollution in Delhi, the National Air Quality Commission has directed to promote public vehicles running on electric and CNG in Delhi and NCR region. Apart from this, from November 1, only BS-6 category buses will be able to come to Delhi from NCR.

Under this, BS-3 petrol i.e. petrol vehicles registered before April 1, 2010 and BS-4 diesel four-wheeler diesel vehicles registered before April 1, 2020 will not be able to run in Delhi. The Transport Department has deployed 114 teams to take action against polluting vehicles. However, vehicles deployed for emergency services and vehicles engaged in government work will not come under the purview of this ban.

what is bs standard
BS (Bharat Stage) are emission standards set by the Government of India. Which determine the amount of air pollutants emitted by motor vehicle engines. The standards and the timeline for their implementation are determined by the Central Pollution Control Board under the Ministry of Environment and Forests and Climate Change. These standards were first implemented in 2000.

Since then the norms are being continuously tightened. The engines of all new vehicles manufactured after the implementation of the standards are required to conform to these rules. In simple language, BS standards reveal the pollution caused by vehicles, through this the Government of India can control the emissions from vehicle engines. Monitors pollution caused by smoke.
