In a tragic accident in Balrampur, Chhattisgarh, six people lost their lives, including four members of the same family. Reports indicate that a speeding Scorpio vehicle lost control and plunged into a deep pond.
One person was also injured in this accident. The police have started an investigation. Villagers reported that the vehicle somehow lost control and crashed into the pond. Those inside the vehicle were trapped and could not be saved due to the pond being over 10 feet deep. The pond is located near the road.
Police stated that the Scorpio crashed into the pond near Laduwa village at around 8:30 pm on Saturday, causing a commotion. Local residents quickly attempted a rescue operation to save those trapped. Upon receiving information, the police also arrived at the scene and, with the help of a JCB machine, managed to pull the Scorpio out. It was reported that the car doors were closed, trapping the occupants inside.
Driver Survives with Injuries
The police informed that the passengers in the Scorpio were on their way to Surajpur, with four family members among the deceased. However, the driver, Baleshwar Prajapati, survived, though he sustained serious injuries. Dr. Ram Prasad, BMO of Rajpur, reported that the injured individual is receiving medical treatment. The families of the deceased have been informed of the incident.
Police have launched an investigation. Villagers shared that the vehicle lost control and plunged into the pond, resulting in the deaths of those inside. Due to the pond’s depth, which exceeds 10 feet, rescuing the passengers was not possible. The pond is located near the road.
